Sunk Cost is built so that nothing leaves your phone. There is no Sunk Cost account, no Sunk Cost server, and the app makes no network connections at all.

What the app keeps on your phone

Sunk Cost stores the following on your iPhone, in the app's own storage:

• The job titles and yearly salaries you set, including any titles you add
• Who you put in a meeting (a count per title) and the name you give the meeting
• A meeting that is in progress, so the meter is still right if you leave the app
• The receipts of finished meetings: name, date, duration, attendees and cost
• Your settings: working hours a year and the full-cost switch

That information is used only to show you the screens in the app. It is included in your iPhone backups according to your own iOS backup settings, and it is deleted when you delete the app. Swiping a receipt in the Receipts list deletes that receipt.

What we collect

We collect nothing. Sunk Cost has no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party code. We do not know who uses the app or how.

If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your iPhone's Settings (Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us anonymised crash reports and usage statistics. That is controlled by you and by Apple, not by the app.

Sharing a receipt

When you tap "Share the damage", iOS shows its share sheet and hands a picture of the receipt to whatever app or person you choose. From that moment the picture is handled by that app under its own terms. Sunk Cost does not send it anywhere itself.

The salaries

The salaries that come with the app are rough, illustrative averages chosen by us. They are not anyone's actual pay and are not taken from any person's data. You can change every one of them.

Children

Sunk Cost is not directed at children, and because it collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the new policy will be posted at this address with a new date.
